A Comparative Study of Master's Degree Programs in China and the United Kingdom
Abstract
postgraduate education has achieved remarkable expansion in scale, it exhibits notable shortcomings in admission mechanisms, curriculum
systems, and the supervisor system. Employing literature review and comparative analysis, this paper explores these issues across four dimensions: historical evolution, institutional characteristics, operational mechanisms, and implementation outcomes. It ultimately proposes that
China should advance reforms in admission selection, curriculum development, supervisor development, and evaluation systems to build a
high-quality postgraduate education system with Chinese characteristics and international competitiveness.
