Current Status and Optimization Pathways for Digital Literacy Among Vocational College Teachers in the Era of GAI Technology

Yu Xu, Wenjun Deng

Abstract

As the main force in cultivating new-type talents, higher vocational education serves as a vital pathway for empowering technological innovation, nurturing skilled craftsmen, and revitalizing the real economy. Teachers are the cornerstone of education. Against the backdrop
of China's vigorous promotion of smart classroom development in vocational institutions and the enhancement of teachers' digital teaching
capabilities, elevating educators' awareness, capacity, and responsibility in utilizing digital technologies to optimize and transform educational
activities represents a critical breakthrough for advancing the professional competence of the teaching workforce. This approach facilitates the
digital transformation of higher vocational education toward new-quality education. For vocational teachers, it is imperative to redefine their
roles, innovate teaching methods, and enhance digital literacy. However, the overall level of teachers' digital capabilities remains relatively low at
present. Therefore, improvements are needed across multiple dimensions, from systematic instructional design to precise implementation.
