Integrating Generative AI into Metaphor and Construction Learning in Primary and Secondary School English Education: A Cognitive Linguistics Approach
Abstract
pedagogical approaches. Rooted in embodied cognition and construction grammar theories, this paper explores integrating generative AI to
solve challenges in cultivating metaphor awareness and facilitating construction acquisition in Chinese primary and secondary school English
teaching. First, it analyzes traditional teaching limitations, then shows generative AI's advantages in creating scenarios, providing examples,
and giving feedback. Based on this, a four - phase "Perception, Interpretation, Generation, and Creative Application" instructional model is
constructed, with strategies for metaphor visualization and construction practice. Finally, it discusses integration challenges like teachers' AI
literacy and ethical issues, and outlines future research directions, aiming to provide a reference and blueprint for English education reform in
the intelligent era.
