The Impact of Foreign Language Anxiety on Chinese Students' Oral English Production and Teaching Improvement Strategies

Abstract


Affective factors are vital in second language acquisition, as emphasized in Krashen's (1982) Affective Filter Hypothesis. Anxiety,
a key affective factor, is particularly prominent among Chinese students in oral English classes, impacting their learning effects and mainly
manifesting as communication apprehension, test distress, and fear of negative evaluation (Shawon, 2025). This study examines these types
and proposes targeted strategies to mitigate such unease, providing practical guidance for oral English teaching.
