Cultivation of Top Innovative Talents in High School Mathematics: Theoretical Construction and Practical Paths

Hengfeng Jiang

Abstract

Under the dual guidance of the "Strong Foundation Program" and core literacy education, the cultivation of top innovative talents
in high school mathematics has become an important proposition in the reform of basic education. Based on the practical experience of mathematics competition training at Nanjing Lizhi Senior High School and combined with the advanced experiences of many renowned schools
across the country, this paper systematically analyzes the existing problems in the current cultivation of top mathematics talents, such as
fragmented curriculum, single teaching method, and rigid evaluation. It constructs a "three-dimensional integration" cultivation system: in the
curriculum dimension, a spiral progressive curriculum group of "foundation-expansion-competition" is formed; in the teaching dimension, an
integrated model of "problem-driven-inquiry generation-transfer application" is innovated; in the evaluation dimension, a diversified evaluation mechanism of "process + achievement" is established. Meanwhile, three supporting strategies including the construction of a teaching
staff echelon, university-middle school collaborative education, and resource guarantee mechanism are proposed to provide operable practical
paths for the cultivation of top innovative talents in high school mathematics.
