The AIGC Wave: Creative Transformation, Risks, and Development Strategies for Shaanxi's Online Literature and Art

Yanan Li

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the impact of Generative AI (AIGC) on the development of online literature and art in Shaanxi, a
region renowned for its profound cultural heritage. It aims to identify effective strategies for navigating the technological disruption and fostering culturally-grounded innovation.
??Design/methodology/approach: Utilizing a case study approach and policy analysis, this paper systematically examines the tripartite
transformationaffecting creative agency, cultural resources, and narrative paradigmsbrought about by AIGC. It further dissects the concomitant cultural, ethical, and industrial risks.
??Findings: The research finds that AIGC is reshaping Shaanxi's online creative ecosystem through human-AI collaboration, the digital
twinning of cultural assets, and generative storytelling. However, it also triggers significant challenges, including the "data dilution" of cultural depth, stylistic homogenization, ambiguous copyright ownership, and structural shocks to the creative industry.
??Originality/value: This paper provides a timely and critical analysis of AIGC's dual-edged impact on regional culture in the Global
South context. It moves beyond theoretical discussion to propose a concrete, multi-pronged strategy for Shaanxi, involving the construction
of a local cultural data ecosystem, cultivation of hybrid talents, establishment of regulatory sandboxes, and the development of a "Created in
Shaanxi" digital brand, offering a replicable model for other culturally-rich regions.
