Discussion on the Teaching Mode of Situation and Policy Course Based on OBE Concept

Qian Zhang

Abstract

The Situation and Policy course is a crucial component of ideological and political education in Chinese universities. Integrating the
Outcome-Based Education (OBE) concept into its teaching, which focuses on student learning outcomes, can significantly enhance its practical effectiveness. However, current implementation faces challenges including outdated content, unimaginative teaching methods, lagging
evaluation systems, and limitations in faculty development. This paper analyzes the positive impact of OBE, examines these existing problems, and proposes a comprehensive teaching model. The strategies include optimizing content for timeliness and relevance, innovating with
blended and practical teaching methods, reforming multi-dimensional teaching evaluations, and reconstructing the teaching faculty through
targeted training. The aim is to improve course quality and comprehensively develop student competencies.
