Mei Tang, Tingting Yang, Lijian Liao*

Abstract

Against the backdrop of ongoing educational reforms, university physical education programs face an urgent need for innovation and ptimization in teaching methodologies and performance evaluation approaches. This study focuses on evaluating university physical education courses through the 5E model, aiming to explore its effectiveness in enhancing students' physical literacy and comprehensive
competencies. Findings indicate that the 5E teaching model not only improves students' physical education performance but also stimulates
their learning interest and initiative, fostering comprehensive abilities such as self-directed learning, teamwork, and innovative practice. In
optimizing the teaching process, the 5E model employs multi-stage design to make instruction more scientific and rational, thereby promoting
students' holistic development.
