A Study on a College English Practical Teaching Curriculum System Oriented Towards Application Ability

Yanbai Chen

Abstract

With globalization, the task of college English education is no longer merely the transmission of language knowledge, but also
the cultivation of students' practical English application skills and intercultural communication abilities. Traditional college English courses
emphasize exam preparation and theoretical knowledge teaching, neglecting students' practical application abilities, resulting in students' inability to use English effectively in actual work and social interactions. To address this educational situation, universities must create a college
English practical teaching curriculum system oriented towards application ability. Through scientific and systematic curriculum design, diverse practical teaching activities, and a reasonable and effective evaluation system, students' comprehensive English proficiency and practical
application level can be improved.
