Vocational Identity Profile Types and Learning Burnout among Secondary Vocational Students based on Latent Profile Analysis

Yue Zhang, Seungjin Lee*

Abstract

To reveal the heterogeneity of vocational identity among secondary vocational students and its relationship with learning burnout, this study conducted a questionnaire survey among students from several secondary vocational schools in a certain province. Latent
profile analysis was employed to identify potential vocational identity profiles, and differences in learning burnout across profiles were examined. The results indicate that vocational identity among secondary vocational students can be classified into three types: low, moderate,
and high vocational identity. Significant differences in learning burnout were found among these profiles, with higher levels of vocational
identity generally associated with lower levels of learning burnout. These findings suggest that secondary vocational schools should prioritize the identification of students with low vocational identity in career education and program development, and implement differentiated
interventions by integrating vocational experiences and support systems, so as to reduce the risk of learning burnout and promote sustained
learning engagement.
