Yuxia Song

Abstract

Located in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, Sun Valley Manor at Tianjing Lake is a government-planned eco-green project. Its
English sign system is critical for international integration and brand building. This study identifies linguistic and cultural problems in urban
English public signs, and based on the pragmatic functions of English public signs and four translation principles (accuracy, conciseness, po
liteness, cross-cultural communication), completes professional consulting for the manors English sign system and formulates a diversified
multi-media promotion plan. The standardized English signs and multi-channel promotion achieve remarkable effects, providing a practical
reference for the English translation and international promotion of eco-green tourism projects in ethnic minority areas, and helping enhance
