A Study on the Influence of Flow Experience and Self Regulation on Music Performance Anxiety(MPA)Among College Students Majoring in Music

Jieyuxuan Yang, Seungjin Lee*

Abstract

To explore the influence and mechanism of flow experience and self-regulation on music performance anxiety among college stu
dents majoring in music, 120 students of this major were selected as research subjects. Relevant scales were used for investigation, and cor
relation and regression analyses were conducted to verify the relationships between variables. The results showed that both flow experience
and self-regulation were significantly negatively correlated with music performance anxiety, and self-regulation played a partial mediating
role between them; piano majors had the optimal flow experience, and junior students had the strongest self-regulation ability. The conclusion
indicates that improving both can synergistically alleviate music performance anxiety, providing theoretical support for targeted interventions.
