POA Enabling Activity: From Theoretical Framework to an Applicable SLA Teaching Paradigm in Second Language Writing Class
Abstract
cal studies, centers on effective enabling as the core of classroom teaching activities. This study takes POAs enabling activities as the research
focus, based on the three evaluation criteria for effective enabling proposed by Wen Qiufang (2017): alignment, gradualness and diversity. By
reviewing the existing research on the application of POA enabling activities in university second language (L2) writing teaching, this paper
deciphers the theoretical connotations of the three effectiveness criteria, constructs an applicable teaching paradigm of POA enabling activi
ties for L2 writing classes, and designs a specific and operable teaching plan with the writing of advice letters as the output task. The research
aims to provide a practical and theoretical reference for the design and implementation of enabling activities in L2 writing teaching under the
POA framework, and to promote the integration of POA theory and L2 writing classroom practice.
