The Application of Scaffolding Instruction in Ancient Poetry Classes in XiZang Primary Schools

Haihan Liu

Abstract

The scaffolding instruction model, rooted in constructivist theory, guides students to independently construct knowledge
through temporary instructional frameworks, aligning closely with the student-centered philosophy of the new curriculum standards. In
primary education, ancient poetry teaching plays a vital role in transmitting culture, enlightening minds, and shaping students spiritual
foundation. However, in XiZang primary schools, challenges such as students shallow understanding and low interest persist. The intro
duction of scaffolding instruction can enhance students core competencies, stimulate interest, and facilitate comprehension of ancient
poetry. By systematically constructing three scaffoldsbackground knowledge, inquiry-based questions, and immersive situations
teachers can develop an effective teaching strategy system, offering new approaches to innovate ancient poetry instruction and improve
teaching effectiveness.
