Effective Pathways for Integrating Cultural Education into Ideological and Political Education in Higher Education

Abstract


With the promise of improving ideological and political education quality and efficacy in higher education institutions, cultural edu
cation has become an important tool to learn more in terms of values. Based on theoretical analysis and experimental studies, we discuss the
practical challenges of integrating cultural education into ideological andpolitical education, namely: incompatibility of cultural content with
core values, limited resources and less student participation. We design an integration pathway which embeds cultural values into internalized
institutions, enforces a global system between on-campus, off-campus and digital resources, and enables a unified structure of teaching, prac
tice and assessment. This facilitates the appeal, relevance, and effectiveness of ideological and Political education, and can be used to provide
a practical and actionable way for higher education institution to achieve its core mission of nurturing virtue and learning.
