Research on Enhancing Self-Regulated Learning Ability of College Students in Distance Education

Xiankui Xu, Jimyeong Hong*

Abstract

With the rapid expansion of distance education, the issue of insufficient self-regulated learning ability among college students
has become increasingly evident. Grounded in social cognitive theory and self-determination theory, this research develops an integrated
framework that incorporates perspectives from both behaviorism and constructivism. External supportssuch as platform functionalities
and instructor feedbackcontribute to enhancing learners self-regulated learning ability. Meanwhile, intrinsic abilities, including motiva
tional regulation and cognitive strategies, serve as the core driving forces. By optimizing technological infrastructure and fostering synergy
between external and internal factors, this integrated framework offers a practical pathway for enhancing college students self-regulated
learning competence.
