Abstract

Objective: To investigate the influencing factors of employment pressure among medical students at Guilin Medical University,
with a focus on analyzing the relationship between satisfaction with university employment services and the level of pressure, thereby provid
ing a basis for optimizing university career guidance. Methods: A cluster random sampling method was employed from April to December
2025 to conduct a questionnaire survey among 2, 143 medical students. Chi-square tests and logistic regression analyses were used to examine
the effects of personal factors, psychological factors, and satisfaction with university services on employment pressure (categorized as "low
pressure" and "high pressure"). Results: Multivariate analysis indicated that insufficient internship experience, perceived intense competition,
and being in higher grades were risk factors for pressure. Regarding psychological factors, employment anxiety affecting sleep and academic
pressure affecting mood were significantly associated with high pressure. Regarding university services, "average" satisfaction with corporate
partnership resources, compared to "dissatisfaction, " was a protective factor, whereas perceiving counselor guidance as "moderately effective,
" compared to "ineffective, " was a risk factor. Conclusion: Employment pressure among medical students is jointly influenced by personal,
psychological, and university support systems. Universities should promote a shift in employment services from "universal provision" to "pre
cision empowerment." Measures such as strengthening university-enterprise cooperation and enhancing the targeted nature of counselor guid
ance can effectively alleviate student pressure and facilitate high-quality employment.
