The Real Gap and Improvement Path of Rural Teachers' Digital Literacy in the Era of Intelligence

Hui Chen

Abstract

Against the backdrop of the intelligent era, the digital literacy of rural teachers has emerged as a pivotal factor constraining the
digital transformation and high-quality development of rural education. Consequently, this paper examines the current state of rural teachers
digital literacy development, systematically analysing existing structural gaps across five dimensions: digital awareness, technical skills, peda
gogical application, social responsibility, and professional development. Research reveals that rural teachers exhibit a pattern ofwidespread
foundational capabilities but insufficient advanced application, facing multiple challenges including cognitive biases, superficial integration,
and inadequate support. Building upon this, the paper proposes a five-pronged enhancement strategy: establishing policy safeguards, innovat
ing tiered training models, fostering collaborative development ecosystems, refining evaluation and incentive mechanisms, and strengthening
social responsibility cultivation. This framework provides theoretical reference and practical guidance for systematically elevating rural teach
ersdigital literacy and promoting balanced urban-rural educational development.
