Research on the Development of English Pragmatic Competence from the Perspective of Cross-Cultural Communication
Abstract
English pragmatic competence (speech acts, conversational implicature, social etiquette, and cultural adaptation). By integrating teaching
practice cases, it examines current challenges in English pragmatic competence developmentincluding cognitive biases, textbook deficiencies, and rigid teaching modelsand proposes targeted cultivation strategies across four dimensions: curriculum restructuring, teaching
method innovation, enhanced cultural immersion, and optimized evaluation mechanisms. The study establishes a tripartite "theory-practicefeedback" safeguard mechanism, providing theoretical references and practical guidance for improving English teaching quality and cultivating interdisciplinary talents proficient in intercultural communication.
