Integrating Traditional Chinese Music Appreciation into High School Mental Health Education: An Innovative Approach -- Taking Guqin Music Appreciation as an Example

Abstract


Amid intensifying social competition and escalating developmental pressures, high school students are confronted with multiple
mental health challenges, including academic anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, and identity confusion. Traditional mental health education
often fails to meet practical needs due to its formalized orientation and insufficient experiential engagement. Aligned with the frameworks
of "Healthy China" and "Five-fold Education, " guqin musicendowed with both cultural attributes and psychotherapeutic functionshas
emerged as a pivotal medium for innovating high school mental health education.
??Grounded in a literature review and theoretical construction, this study systematically examines the psychotherapeutic mechanisms of
guqin music and its educational applicability, and constructs an "ObjectivesContentMethodsImplementationEvaluationExtension"
practical pathway. Based on established therapeutic theories and the developmental characteristics of high school students, this pathway demonstrates effectiveness in alleviating anxiety and depressive tendencies, enhancing emotional regulation capacity, and strengthening cultural
identity. It further expands the cultural dimension of mental health education and provides a transferable framework for the localized and experiential transformation of high school mental health education.
