Integrating the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation into University Curricula under the Framework of Holistic Ideological and Political Education

Abstract

Fostering a strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation is the central theme of the Party's ethnic work in the new era and a
key task of ideological and political education in universities. The concept of holistic ideological and political education offers broader curriculum space for this goal. This paper analyzes the internal connection between the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation and the
university curriculum system. It explores integration pathways in three dimensions: deepening ideological and political courses, embedding
values into professional courses, and infiltrating the hidden curriculum. It also constructs safeguard mechanisms covering institutions, faculty,
resources, evaluation, and collaboration. The study concludes that effective integration requires breaking curriculum barriers and building an
educational ecosystem with multi-course linkage, multi-agent collaboration, and multi-dimensional support under the framework of holistic
ideological and political education. Such integration can substantially improve the effectiveness of relevant education in universities.
