International Student Education in Higher Vocational Colleges: Governance Models and Development Trends
Abstract
aspect towards further internationalization of vocational education. The current paper discusses the particular aspects of vocational colleges
in the sphere of international student education and presents three main governance models in a systematic way namely: government-led,
institution-autonomous and school-enterprise collaborative. The analysis of case studies under various models helps to outline the benefits and
drawbacks of each model in terms of enrollment, teaching, curriculum design and cross-cultural adaptation, and suggests practical ways to
maximize the effectiveness of governance. The study also examines the significant role played by the new phenomena like e-learning, interregional collaboration and cross-cultural communication in the further evolution of international student education, offering useful recommendations to vocational colleges in the area.
