A Study on the Current Situation and Strategies of Ideological and Political Education Infiltration in Junior High School English Reading Teaching
Abstract
junior high school English reading instruction. English reading is not only a process of language acquisition, but also an important channel for
value formation, cultural understanding, and moral development. At present, although teachers have become increasingly aware of the importance of ideological and political education, classroom practice still faces several problems, including superficial integration, insufficient textbased analysis, exam-oriented constraints, and weak support systems. In response to these issues, this paper proposes several strategies, such
as conducting patriotic education, carrying out traditional culture education, developing students' values, and implementing holistic quality
education. These strategies aim to connect reading materials with students' real lives and moral growth. The study argues that ideological and
political education should be naturally embedded in reading instruction through textual analysis, classroom discussion, cultural comparison,
and meaningful language use.
