Xiaoyun Zhang

Abstract

Filial piety has an extremely important position in the history of Confucianism, and the ancients believed that filial piety is the
most virtuous way of course, the foundation of a hundred actions, and the first of all goodness. Filial piety is not only a relationship between
father and son with the family as the basic unit, but also a fundamental code of conduct in the behavior of Hundred Rites. This paper studies
Wu Chengs idea of filial piety, mainly based on the Definitive Version of the Book of Filial Piety. This paper focuses on the analysis of Wu
Chengs method of compiling the Book of Filial Piety and the source, basis and implementation of the idea of filial piety. In the Definitive
Version of the Book of Filial Piety, it is clearly understood that filial piety comes from the principles of heaven, and the function of filial piety is embodied in the induction of heaven and man.
