The Influence of the Development of Chinese and German Philosophy on the Development of Art Songs

Kun Yang

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of Chinese and German philosophical ideas on the evolution of art songs. These philosophies offer
inspiration and themes, shaping the expression, connections, and aesthetics of art songs. German philosophy notably influenced art songs during the early period, Enlightenment, and post-Hegelian stages.
??Chinese philosophies, including Confucianism and Taoism, are also evident in art songs. The mutual exchange and dissemination of philosophy and art songs enhance cultural exchange. By comparing China and Germany, the paper highlights the significant role of philosophy in
art song development and underscores the value of fostering cultural diversity and harmonious growth.
