Research on the Impact of Pop Song Singing on the Emotional Regulation Ability of Adolescents
Abstract
psychological and physiological development characteristics of adolescents was conducted to delimit the dimensions for emotional regulation
ability, mainly including emotional cognition, expression, and regulation. Through analyzing the functions of lyrics and melody, the influence
of singing behavior itself, and the factors of themselves on their regulation, this study suggests that the lyrics content, rhythm, and tone of pop
songs can effectively guide and regulate the emotions of adolescents, and the sense of participation, , and interpersonal interaction in singing
further strengthen this regulatory effect. Additionally, the cognitive level and personality characteristics of adolescents significantly influence
the emotional regulation effect of pop song singing. The results that singing pop songs is both an entertainment activity and an effective way
of emotional regulation, and it has a positive effect on the mental health of adolescents.
