Research on the Practical Skills and Artistic Expression of Piano Accompaniment in Chinese Art Songs

Aiye Guo

Abstract

The piano accompaniment in Chinese art songs is not merely a melodic support but also a conveyer of poetic artistic conception and
a co-constructor of emotional expression. This paper explores it from two dimensions: practical skills and artistic expression. Microscopically,
the delicate control of timbre, flexible changes in touch techniques, and ingenious use of pedal art collectively shape the accompaniments
ability to depict artistic conception and echo emotions. Macroscopically, the narrative design of preludes, interludes, and postludes, the role of
harmonic colors in expressing emotion and imagery, and the coordination between rhythmic flexibility and vocal lines further enhance the musical structure hierarchy and artistic expression. Through classic works such as "I Dwell at the Head of the Yangtze River" and "Three Wishes
of a Rose", this paper illustrates how piano accompaniment achieves in-depth interaction with vocal music and poetry through the combination of technique and artistry, thereby promoting the enrichment of aesthetic connotation and the sublimation of artistic expression in Chinese
art songs.
