The Design of Regional Landscape Garden Integrating Natural Ecology and Hainan Cultural Characteristics

Tongbin Cui

Abstract

As an island province endowed with unique tropical ecological resources and diverse cultural heritage, Hainan requires landscape
design that transcends homogenization while achieving dual objectives of ecological conservation and cultural preservation. This study examines the core values of integrating natural ecology with Hainans cultural identity, analyzing current challenges in regional landscape design
such as ecological fragmentation, superficial cultural expression, and insufficient regional distinctiveness. Through four dimensionsecological foundation protection, cultural element adaptation, functional-scenario integration, and innovative technical approachesit proposes a
design methodology for deepening the fusion of natural ecology and Hainans cultural characteristics. The research provides theoretical references and practical insights for developing Hainans landscape architecture that combines ecological resilience, cultural depth, and regional
uniqueness.
